Knit socks in less time with our Sock Tube Cranking Service! Purchase a skein of sock yarn from us (one 100gr or two 50gr skeins*), add on this service, and we'll crank your yarn into one long tube that's ready for you to add afterthought heels, toes, and cuffs.

We can either crank the entire tube or reserve some of the yarn for you to finish your socks (~20gr). If we crank the full 100gr of sock yarn and you're using contrast yarn for heels, toes, and cuffs, you'll likely be able to get 2 pairs of socks from one tube.

DK weight stitch counts:

  • 48 stitch tube at 6.5-7 sts/inch = 7-7.5" tube (women's medium/men's small)
  • 54 stitch tube at 6.5-7 sts/inch = 8-8.5" tube (women's large/men's medium)
  • 64 stitch tube at 6.5-7 sts/inch = 9-9.5" tube (men's large)

Please allow extra time (7-14 days) for your order to ship or be ready for pickup. It will generally be ready much sooner, but it may take longer based on our sock tube queue.

Total tube length will vary based on weight/yardage and stitches per inch - the larger the stitch count, the shorter the tube and your socks will be. So, if you're having us crank all the yarn, so you can either make one pair of longer socks, or add additional cuff length to get 2 pairs from one tube.

*50gr skeins of the same yarn are considered one crank for 1 or 2 skeins as long as we're cranking the same stitch count. If you have 2 - 50gr skeins that are the same yarn and stitches, just add ONE service to your cart and they'll come as ONE tube with waste yarn between the two skeins.
