DATES & TIMES | Fridays: September 26, October 10 & 31, and November 14 (10:30AM-12:30PM) at our brick-and-mortar shop. 4 sessions.
ABOUT THE CLASS | Join guest instructor Lynn Marie for a hands-on sweater knitting and fitting class that applies the skills and techniques learned in Foundations of Fit while constructing an actual sweater. Gain confidence in adjusting your pattern to match your measurements, making adjustments as you go along, and troubleshoot fit issues with an expert.
PREREQUISITES | Completion of Foundations of Fit OR previous successful knitting of a top-down raglan sweater, experience making minor sizing adjustments (i.e. length and/or body width), and a basic understanding of calculations used to make fit adjustments.
SUPPLIES | Firefly Fibers yarn (worsted-aran weight), needles, stitch markers, printed pattern (choose from the options below), completed measurement chart (from Foundations of Fit), calculator/phone, note taking supplies, and highlighter.
PRE-WORK | Print your pattern, wind yarn, complete gauge swatch, compare pattern measurements to your body chart, and come prepared to discuss sizing and desired fit changes for neck and yoke in our first class.
- If you haven't completed Foundations of Fit, you'll also need to arrive at the first class at 10am to get settled and complete your measurement chart. Please wear a close-fitting tank top or cami for accurate measurements.
GUEST INSTRUCTOR BIO | Lynn Marie has worked in the commercial apparel industry for close to 20 years as a designer, technical designer, and product developer for sweaters and knitwear. She translates her extensive fitting experience to be applicable for the hand knitter. She is an avid knitter, sewist, crafter, and vintage enthusiast.
